American Training, Inc.
American Training offers day services and employment support including job coaching to individuals with developmental disabilities, and/or an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis and Acquired Brain Injury.
Bridgewell
Provides personalized employment support services for adults with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, or physical disabilities. Includes: Vocational coaching, job placement, on-the-job support, and community-based day supports (CBDS) with volunteer, training, and soft-skills programs.
Easter Seals MA
Works closely with MassAbility to deliver vocational assessments, job development and placement, résumé writing, interview preparation, and ongoing job support. Accessed through a MassAbility Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
Employment First Massachusetts
A statewide initiative offering trainings, webinars, and resources on benefits planning, career discovery, job development, and job coaching strategies. Excellent for professionals supporting job seekers with disabilities.
Employment Resources Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)
Pre-ETS allows youth starting at age 14 to explore employment. These services can be offered through specialized programs available through LPS starting in Grade 11 (such as American Training), but students with IEPs and their families may apply directly to outside Pre-ETS vendors or be referred by a transition specialist beginning at age 14. Here is a list of a few Pre-ETS vendors along with their locations.
Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
A free, confidential federal resource offering guidance on workplace accommodations, ADA rights, and entrepreneurship. Available to job seekers, employers, and family members.
LARE Institute
Workforce development program offering training and certifications. Programs include Medical Assistant, CNA, Phlebotomy, Business Technology, ESOL, and HiSET.
MassAbility
Lawrence Career Services: Offers career counseling, vocational training, job placement, referrals, and hosts informational sessions. Fully accessible. Ideal for individuals with disabilities seeking structured employment support in Merrimack Valley.
MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center
Services include employment counseling (résumés, interviews, job-search guidance), training opportunities (e.g., ACT WorkKeys curriculum for workplace skills), online job-search workshops, and free digital learning via SkillBase (career development, digital skills, English for work). The Career Center also offers assistive technology, access to job fairs, and job listings through resource rooms.
MassHire North Shore Youth Career Center
The MassHire North Shore Youth Career Center provides quality, comprehensive employment and career services to area youth ages 14–24.
Melmark
Programs include Community-Based Day Services (CBDS) with pre-employment training, job exploration, volunteer and paid work opportunities, communication and life-skills development, and the Cancro Center for Adult Services offering customized supported employment focused on community inclusion. Ideal for adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), intellectual/developmental disabilities, or acquired brain injuries.
ThinkWork
ThinkWork! is the Institute for Community Inclusion’s (ICI) resource hub offering data, personal stories, innovative practices, and tools related to improving employment outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Ticket to Work (SSA Program)
Open to individuals aged 18–64 receiving SSDI or SSI. Provides free services such as career counseling, job placement, benefits planning, and support through Employment Networks or public VR agencies like MRC.
Work Without Limits
Work Without Limits programs and services meet the needs of employers that actively recruit people with disabilities as employees and in their supply chains, individuals with disabilities seeking jobs, and the employment service providers that serve them.
